BURKS - (Brighton University Resource Kit for Students) - Free compilers, language tutorials, a dictionary of computing and more.

Haskell Programming - Compilers to download and tutorials for the Haskell Langugage (good example of a functional language)

Payne-Gallway - Pat Heathcote's Site. Lots of resources here to accompany her textbooks.

Virtual Museum of Computing - an eclectic collection of links connected with the history of computing and on-line computer-based exhibits. Well worth a look.

OCR computing - Official site - Official site for the OCR Specification - you can download the specification and the structured tasks (1st year coursework)

OCR ICT site (Ashfordman) - Lots of stuff for the OCR ICT A level : also useful for Computing.

The Teacher : A level Computing - Useful revision notes on many theory topics; also past papers with answers. Intended for the Welsh board, but useful for other boards too. Great Site!

ZigZag Education / Computing Centre Publications - Lots of Useful Computing Resources available from this Bristol based organisation.

Chaucer Technology School - Computing pages - Some useful notes and revision tests here.

London Nautical School - - Some useful materials here

school-resources.co.uk - Mainly for GCSE, but there are useful things here for A level too.

Revise Computing - This website is written by Ray Bradley author of "Understanding Computer Science for A Level". The site is geared for the AQA specification, but there are useful things there for OCR too. Practice questions, answers to the questions in the book, a glossary of terms, and more.

Toby Weiss's site - Includes some nice programs written in C++ and Delphi

Information Commissioner - The organisation responsible for the Data Protection & Freedom of Information Acts. Get it from the horse's mouth!

British Computer Society - Supports people working in Information Systems. Provides qualifications, codes of conduct, advice on legal matters and much more. If you're aged 18-35 and interested in working in IT, you can join their Young Professionals Group.

TRAIN - Teacher Resources and Information Network - Some useful resources for Computing and IT, available for purchase

McWeeney Publications - Some useful publications available here, and some free resources. Steve McWeeney's notes for A level ICT are useful for Computing where the specifications overlap.

Daily Telegraph Technology Pages - Fully searchable. A great way to increase your general IT knowledge - important for 2508 and 2511.

Gerry Daniel's A level Computing - Includes some pages on how to do a computing project (written for the AEB board so the mark scheme is out of date, but everything else is worth reading)

A Level ICT Resources - resources for the AQA/NEAB ICT specification. Also useful for computing.

UK ICT Coordinator - Free materials and resources for ICT teachers and coordinators. Subscribe to the free monthly newsletter too!

Anglia Polytechnic - Runs courses in Chelmsford, Essex for ICT and Computing teachers. Courses include computing theory and VB programming. Follow link to "ICT Teachers program". For Edexcel, but useful for OCR too.

ICT resources on Schoolzone site - Search for ICT resources provided by teachers.

Keylink Computers - Authors of the TOM Resource kit for ICT and Computing which is particularly useful for understanding control systems, computer architecture and machine code programming.

GCSE ICT Revision at Didcot Girls School - Lots of information and interactive quizzes. Useful for AS Computing and ICT. Great Site!

Software Made Simple student guides - Guides to the main Office packages available electronically or as booklets. You can download a free guide to Word 97 or 2000 from their web site.

Welsh Board A level Computing Page - Includes some useful specimen papers.

theteacher.info - The most complete text book for the OCR Computing exam is available from this site. Many topics are freely available on the site. You can buy the whole course in book form, or on CD-ROM. For the CD-ROM you need to buy a site licence.

Guardian Archive - Searchable archive of the Guardian Newspaper including their excellent technology articles.

ORT's Information Technology Foundation Course - Includes some on-line tests, useful for AS revision

Medical Expert Systems - a list of Medical Expert Systems. Some on-line demos are available.

Licence Plate Recognition - a nice tutorial on this image-processing technology used to identify vehicles by their license plates.

Webopedia - an Online Dictionary for Computer and Internet Terms

Bruce Eckel's Site - Excellent guides to C++ and Java programming are available as a free download from this site. The site is also an interesting example of electronic publishing.

Computing Notes - Some clear and useful notes, courtesy of Simon Chester. Good for AS.

The Train Brain - Javascript simulations of train networks etc.

Paramics Software - Traffic Simulation Software. You can download several useful demos as Windows avi movies.

A Level Computing Revision - This site was created to provide revision resources for 'A' level Computing students. It does not cover all 'A' level topics but can be used in addition to the exam board specification, your class notes and textbooks.

theteacher.info - A complete textbook for the OCR Computing course is available from this site.

FERL - Ferl is an information service for all staff working within the Post Compulsory Education sector. It aims to support individuals and organisations in making effective use of ILT (Information Learning Technologies). Ferl does this through a web based information service, conferences, publications and other events.

Computing Principles (Epsoft) - Learning Software for A level computing is available from this site.

FOLDOC - Free on-line Dictionary of Computing - it's searchable and you can see which definitions have been added or changed recently.
